In November of 2018, The SHRM Foundation, USAA, and Comcast NBC Universal launched an nationwide initiative to support the recruitment, hiring, retention, and engagement of Military Veterans.  To launch the program, the SHRM Foundation selected 50 Inclusion Captions, through an application process, to serve as ambassadors of the Foundation's veteran's initiative.

Ronda Wakefield, SHRM-SCP, SPHR, Montana SHRM State Council, was selected as one of the founding 50 Inclusion Captains.  Inclusion Captains commit to developing a program implementation plan, host multiple activities within a certain timeline focused on veteran hiring and retention, and engage at least 250 HR colleagues in the certificate program.

Ronda's goal is to get at least 500 employers, hiring managers, front-line supervisors, and HR professionals in the state of Montana, certified in the Veterans at Work Certificate Program.  The program is FREE and participants will earn 10 professional developments credits towards the SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP recertification.

2018 SHRM Diversity & Inclusion Scholarship Winners

Diversity and Inclusion Scholarship Winners

The SHRM Diversity & Inclusion Conference & Exposition Scholarship is granted to three winners by a review committee who select individuals most likely to leverage the tools and resources offered by attending the yearly conference. They seek out candidates who are eager to learn and have plans to apply the skills and knowledge gained to benefit their careers, their organizations, and their communities.

Ronda Wakefield is the Founder of NW MT HR Solutions, LLC based in Montana with more than 15 years of HR experience. Ronda strives to share knowledge and bring awareness to the sometimes-misunderstood topic of diversity and inclusion due to limited exposure to diverse populations. Attending the Diversity & Inclusion Conference will enable Ronda to educate employers by guiding them through the topic, discussing how to embrace the concept, and encouraging them to implement a diverse culture.
